It has been a big week for tutocity with our last 2 tutorials making the home page of www.good-tutorials.com and one of our designs was featured on deviantart. We hope to continue our recent success with our next group of tutorials that will be releasing soon.

We are currently working on setting up a comment module for our tutorials so that we can start getting some feedback from you guys!

Reflective Text Tutorial

Description: In this tutorial you will learn how to make a simple text reflection in just a few small steps.

Step 1: Open up photoshop and hit ctrl+n to open a new photoshop file. Select the preset "default Photoshop Size" and then click OK.


Step 2: You should now have a new photoshop file open. We are now going to change the background color to black. 1st select the "Paint Bucket Tool" which you will find if you right click on the gradient tool. See arrow 1 on the picture below to help you find it.

Next we are going to change the "Foreground Color" to black. To do this just click on the "Foreground Color" tool and the color picker should open up. See arrow 2 to help you find it.

Now we are going to select the color black from the color picker. You can slect the color you want or just type in the color code "000000". See arrow 3 for where you type the code.

When the color code is "000000" click "OK" and the color picker should close. Now just click anywhere in your work area with the paint bucket tool and it should fill the background with black.

Step 3: Now we are going to add our text. Select the "Horizontal Type Tool" See arrow 1 to help you find it. And then click on the "Set text color" icon to bring up the color picker. See arrow 2 to help you find it.

Select the color you wish to use for your text and then click ok. Im going to use white "FFFFFF"

Now click where you wish for your text to appear and start typing. Mine is going to sat "Tutocity.com"
