Page 2 of 4 Step 3: We are now going to create a grungy look for the border. Duplicate the Photo layer Layer > Duplicate Layer and call it "Grunge" then select the "Smudge tool". Hit f5 to bring up the bring up the brushes menu and copy the settings below.     Now with the smudge tool smudge the "Grunge" layer over the top of the "Border" layer. Try to get something looking like below, this step make take you a few attempts untill you get something your happy with.  When you are happy make sure you still have the "Grunge" layer selected in the layers palette and go Select > Load Selection keept the default settings and click OK. You should now have a selection around your "Grunge" layer.  With the selection still active hide the "Grunge" Layer Layers > Hide Layers and then select your "Border" layer in the layers palette. Now hit the delete button and then hit Crtl+D to deselect your your selection. Your image should now looking something like below.  |
